Capital Connections: Money in the Room

Capital Connections is proud to introduce a new format for 2010. This year's forum will focus on linking "capital ready" minority-owned firms with financial resources specifically aligned with their business growth objectives. Financial experts, private equity and angel investors will be on hand to scout alternative funding options and tax incentives that MBEs can use to strengthen their bottom line.

 

Globalization: Access to the Global Economy

This workshop is all about the "What" and "How" of globalization for Minority Business Enterprises. It will provide a high level understanding of how minority business enterprises can leverage their ethnic and cultural heritage for international business development. International Business experts will also be invited to offer their insights on doing business globally.   

 

Government Contracting

This forum will focus on utilizing public-sector contracts to grow and develop a minority business organization and explain how each particular branch of government procures. Government contractors and contracting officers will share the fundamental steps of marketing to the government and positioning minority business to win contracts. Federal, state and local contracting officers and purchasing officials will be on hand to provide business owners with information on accessing current and/or forecasted procurement opportunities.

 

Globalization International Partnership Forum

U.S. minority business enterprises will have the opportunity to meet with CEO's from other countries in a match making forum to discuss current contracts and partnership opportunities. This forum will focus on the following industries Information Technology (IT), Renewable Energy, and Agricultural related products. Foreign countries included, but not limited to China, Mexico, Phillipines, India and Vietnam.  (Invitation Only)

The Buyers Forum

This procurement roundtable provides a forum that matches Corporate Buyers and Supplier Diversity Managers with pre-qualified minority businesses. The top minority vendors from around the Midwest and several Tier 1 suppliers will attend this event. These vendors are selected to specifically match predetermined buyers needs, thereby maximizing successful outcomes. The forum will focus on consumer products, manufacturing, MRO and construction opportunities. The roundtable format offers an excellent opportunity for the exchange of information about buyers' contract requirements, business owner's capacity to meet those requirements and opportunities for MBE partnerships. Joint I.T. Venture/Partnership Forum

An industry focused workshop that emphasizes opportunites available to well formed partnerships in the information Technology Industry. Speakers will include: represenatives from successful partnerships, CIOs, and joint venture experts. This forum will showcase corporate opportunities for partnerships, partnership structure, and execution strategies. (Invitation Only)

 

Professional Services: Business to Business Exchange

Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, Accounting and Legal decision-makers from large corporations will meet with minority professional service firms from their respective area of expertise. Corporate purchasing decisions for professional services are typically made in various departments throughout these large organizations.
